In the story “Beautiful Ghost”, an aging writer, reflecting back on his youth–and his first true love–finally realizes that the only way he'll ever see her again is in his dreams. In “Dancing with the King”, a lonely, awkward young girl who is terrorized by the local bullies finds solace in being able to dance with the ghost of Elvis. A heartbroken man grieving over the loss of his beloved pet is granted a visit to the Rainbow Bridge. In “Sheva", a young runaway, fleeing his abusive home life, finds true love and friendship in the form of a beautiful stray dog named Sheva. And in “Lester Talbot and His Magic Eye”, a widower with special powers makes a young boy's birthday a very special occasion.

Interesting Variey

Mr. Boyer’s stories are varied and pretty imaginative. Most involve a protagonist from adolescence to senior years overcoming some extreme difficulties in life. I think my favourite was Dancing With Elvis where the ghost of the king appears to a young woman and helps her through troubles that have plagued her for most of her life. Would I buy another book from this author? Maybe but I do not regret this purchase at all.
Having said that, I really enjoyed the reader of this collection,Tim Craig. I had not heard of him before but he is definitely someone I would follow in the audiobook genre. He has a good pace and a pleasant baritone voice. He will improvise character voices but does so subtly, just enough to differentiate between the voice of that character and the overall narrative. I don’t often comment on narrators, but thought this man’s performance deserved mention. Definitely added to my enjoyment of the stories and would catch my attention when considering future purchases.
