I thought going with an audio format for a book that included speeches would be a great way to ingest this volume. Instead I feel like I got 13+ hours of dry lecture time.
Some of the speeches were great (RBG's husband was a funny funny man), but for the most part it felt like I was being read a textbook.
I think this would have been better with a physical book and ingested in smaller portions between other lighter books.
I enjoyed learning about all the amazing dents & strides RBG made in law for us ladies (and gents too), but didn't enjoy the format.

Linda Lavin was the perfect voice to narrate Ruth's story. I especially loved how when Ruth spoke you could feel her smile as though you were there in the room with her.

Not a biography if that's what you're looking for. It is a beautifully presented body of her life's work, statements, and views. Even having little knowledge of American law, I really enjoyed learning how she looked at the laws and life. Her dissents and bench announcements were far more intelligent than I realized. Definitely one I'll listen to again.

I am so grateful to learn so much about a woman, who, ahead of her time, worked so hard and sacrificed her time and energy, so that women everywhere could advance in society.

I enjoyed this book, listening in bits and pieces so as to take a good amount of time to reflect. RBG was powerful in advocating for equal rights for ALL American citizens through the law. I very much appreciated that there were instances where the law needed to be changed and so she, and others, sent the issue to congress for a change. What I found encouraging is the the Supreme Court cannot change the laws - their obligation is to send recommendations to the government for change.

I did find that there were a number of cases that were repeated in different settings through the book. Somewhat off-putting but also OK to hear them presented in different contexts.
