À propos de cet audio
On Eagle's Wings is the compelling story of two young men from very different worlds. Their lives are inextricably linked by the founding in 1985 of Eagle Ranch, one of the nation's most progressive therapeutic Christian homes for needy boys.
Eddie Staub, the founder, a former Auburn University baseball player with a deeply caring heart for children who hurt. Rodney Hudgins is beaten as an infant and nearly killed at the hands of a cruel and unloving father. Eddie and Rodney are locked in separate struggles, one to realize a seemingly impossible dream, the other to break free from the shackles of his life.
Eddie travels to Georgia to start a boy's home. Confronted with loneliness and little money, he eventually locates the perfect site. But it comes with a big challenge. He must meet a bank's terms to raise $144,000 in 120 days or lose his dream. Along the way he finds help from the most unlikely sources—the University of Georgia head football coach, a skeptical bank executive and a small, embracing community in Gainesville, Georgia.
Meanwhile, Rodney fights, then runs, from a world that has left him battered and lonely. Depressed and near suicide at age fourteen, he reaches out to Eddie in a last-ditch effort to save his shattered life of poverty and abuse.
On Eagle's Wings is an inspiring confirmation of the power of human perseverance and God's unconditional love and limitless grace. It is a must-read that is sure to touch your heart.
