À propos de cet audio
Clare Cosi used to manage the historic Village Blend coffeehouse…until she opted for quieter pastures and a more suburban life. But after ten years and a little friendly cajoling from the owner (a fresh pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain was all it took), she's back to the grind. With a sprawling rent-free apartment directly above the Village Blend, her cat Java by her side, and plenty of coffeehouse redecorating ideas, Clare is thrilled to return to work. Until she discovers the assistant manager unconscious in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere. Police arrive on the scene to investigate. But when they find no sign of forced entry or foul play, they deem it an accident. Case closed. But Clare is not convinced. And after the police leave, there are a few things she just can't get out of her mind… Why was the trash bin in the wrong place? If this wasn't an accident, is Clare in danger? And… are all detectives this handsome?

An enjoyable way to spend some hours
I will definitely try more in the series - I found the detail on the coffee a little excessive, but maybe as the series goes on that gets toned down - it is definitely a good little cosy mystery more of a hallmark mystery than the British mysteries. I particularly love. - but an enjoyable way to spend some hours

good listen
I have listened to book 17 previously to this. as it is the first in the series, I found the background set up and info a bit boring and the scene descriptions a bit tedious.

A favourite series
I fell in love with this series a few years ago and am starting from the beginning again, not for the first time. I love the details, history, the characters. It doesn’t just follow formula to the letter like many cozies, but gives so much more. The characters steal your heart while making you laugh out loud and cheer them on. More Esther Best and Tucker Burton please! I just finished Bulletproof Barista, and can’t wait for another.
Rebecca Gibel’s narration is brilliant. Throughout the series she gives every one of the extensive cast of characters a unique and consistent voice. For those who complain about the authenticity of the accents, this series covers so many ethnic backgrounds, it would be impossible to nail each one like a native with one narrator. I think she does quite an amazing job of it, whether a Bronx accent, Jamaican, Russian, Parisian, Scottish, Irish, Chinese, the list goes on. And she shifts between them in rapid banter. Rebecca Gibel is my go to narrator when I am searching for a new listen.
