À propos de cet audio
His father is a white trapper, his mother an Athabascan Indian who walks a thousand miles in winter to reunite with her family. Thus, Jimmy Huntington learns early how to survive on the land. Huntington is only seven when his mother dies, and he must care for his younger siblings.
A courageous and inspiring man, Huntington hunts wolves, fights bears, survives close calls too numerous to mention, and becomes a championship sled-dog racer.

As far as tall tales go, this one is a doozy.
This book is supposed to be the true story of a first nations man's life in Alaska, but from the outset, every story is about as believable as an encounter with a Yeti. From the story about his mother walking 1000 miles alone across the frozen north to him killing 3 bears in row with nothing but an axe, this story goes from silly to downright eye rolling. Is it entertaining? Absolutely. Believable? Not in the slightest. Unfortunately, the narrator also has the personality of a wet dish rag. I'd recommend reading this book of fiction as an adventure story, rather than listening to it via audiobook, because the narrator is the worst, but as I've also said, few of any of the stories are believable. It was fun, but there is not a chance in the world that this "memoir" is anything but pure fiction.

From the start to learn of the struggles of peoples in the north and the arduous journey undertaken to be back with her family .The story of Jim Huntington is truly amazing and fantastic listen.
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing of the exploits and adventures in a time that has passed into history.
