Months into the apocalypse, the zombies show no signs of dying, but it's clear everyone in Sunset Park will die without enough food to outlast the undead. Add in the less-than-sociable new neighbors only blocks away, and the hunt for sustenance has come to feel more like a race than a ramble.
Sylvie is happy in her new home with the people who've become like family, though she's still working out how to let them into her heart. Eric wants in, and he wants to find his sister, but he can't do both at the same time. If he can do the second one at all - getting into the city was hard enough, getting out may prove impossible.
Despite setbacks - and a couple million zombies - it seems fortune is working in their favor. After all, food, security, and family are extraordinary when just being alive is a notable accomplishment. But fortune can turn on a dime, and all it takes is one misstep.

READ THIS SERIES (and Until the End of the World)!
Hello audible!
First of all, Sarah Lyons Fleming is incredible. I’m such a fan of her writing. I real all 7 of her books (from til the world ends to the next book in this series, Instauration) starting with Until the world ends (and that series first). I loved the characters, I loved the writing, I loved the story etc etc. I can’t wait for her next series to come available on audible in a few months. I’ve recommended these books to so many people and I most definitely recommend them to you! ENJOY! I wish I could do it all over again.

Great series
Book 2 doesn’t disappoint. The saga continues, and the story is just as compelling as the first. It was hard for me to stop listening, and can’t wait for the next installment. The characters and their relationships feel authentic, and these Zombie times are crazy!

A post apocalyptic zombie masterpiece
This post apocalyptic zombie adventure is filled with charismatic characters, action, danger and romance. The storyline is smooth flowing and chalk full, keeping your interest from the first word until the last. I enjoyed the character interaction, the action scenes and the insights into human nature. All of which is told within the story of two main characters making the novel gripping and engaging. I can hardly wait until the next book in the series.

Another good one!
It’s hard finding zombie books that aren’t either hardcore gore or completely lacking in zombies. This series seems to have found a perfect balance. Worth the time and money!

Couldn’t stop listening
This book is an amazing second instalment in The City series. While the narration is a little wonky at times, it’s still fabulously done. The story just keeps getting better and with the high highs come the low lows. We lost some people and there will be tears, but the survivors fight on in this realistic zombie apocalypse.
