À propos de cet audio
On July 22, 2009, a special meeting was held with 24 leading scientists at the National Institutes of Health to discuss early findings that a newly discovered retrovirus was linked to chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), prostate cancer, lymphoma, and eventually neurodevelopmental disorders in children. When Dr. Judy Mikovits finished her presentation the room was silent for a moment, then one of the scientists said, "Oh my God!" The resulting investigation would be like no other in science. For Dr. Mikovits, a 20-year veteran of the National Cancer Institute, this was the midpoint of a five-year journey that would start with the founding of the Whittemore-Peterson Institute for Neuro-Immune Disease at the University of Nevada, Reno, and end with her as a witness for the federal government against her former employer, Harvey Whittemore, for illegal campaign contributions to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. On this journey, Dr. Mikovits would face the scientific prejudices against CFS, wander into the minefield that is autism, and through it all struggle to maintain her faith in God and the profession to which she had dedicated her life. This is a story for anybody interested in the peril and promise of science at the very highest levels in our country.

Implications Abound
The Plague outlines the inner workings of how science is carried out and critiqued by other scientists, and advanced or halted. Science is so trusted because it is meticulously performed and constantly challenged. This is the story of how it is challenged by perception and money and power. The implications of this story, the creation of retroviruses in labs and evidence of its virulence in the population is frightening,

Intriguing and informative
Reads like a thriller with tons of turns and twists, but is chock full of virology jargon and truth.
Worth a look, maybe even a second one to get the most out of the book.
A must read for anyone who’s ever had an interest in Science or for the curious mind.

Stick with it!
I read plague of corruption first and I think that was my problem. The narrator of that book was fabulous and while I definitely did get used to the narration of this one it was really difficult for me to keep going at first because there is so little expression in the narration. The story however is very detailed and very good. it jumps around a lot and there is some repetition but honestly I found the repetition helpful because it allowed me to really retain those key points. I bought a hard copy of the book after listening to it because I wanted to make sure that I could quick reference things... there's a lot of valuable information here.

A must read!!
Dr. Mikovits was used and abused. She was a passionate scientist especially because she was true to her patients. Unfortunately she was railroaded by unscrupulous peers which really comes down to money, greed, dishonesty and it continues today!!
Thank you Ms. Mikovits for your service. This book is a must read.
