In this day and age, we are perpetually invaded by so many different concepts. Imagine what your head goes through when you wake up, switch off the alarm, look at your social media, answer your phone, or even email people. Then we have the noise of the world. This is the noise of TV, radio, music, people in the streets, traffic, etc. While much of this is self-inflicted, part of the problem today is that we do not allow ourselves calmness of mind.
