À propos de cet audio
For elven pathfinder Varian Jeggare and his devil-blooded assistant Radovan, things are rarely as they seem. Yet not even the notorious crime-solving duo is prepared for what they find when a search for a missing pathfinder takes them into the mist-shrouded mountains of gothic Ustalav. Beset on all sides by noble intrigue, mysterious locals, and the deadly creatures of the night, Varian and Radovan must use both sword and spell to track the strange rumors to their source and uncover a secret of unimaginable proportions. But it'll take more than merely solving the mystery to finish this job, for a shadowy figure has taken note of the pair's investigations, and is set on making sure neither man gets out of Ustalav alive.
From fan-favorite author Dave Gross comes a new fantastical mystery set in the award-winning world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Fun Tale
I confess that I have never played the 'Pathfinders' RPG on which this book is based. It appears to be a universe roughly equivalent to the DnD reality.. but a bit grittier. 'Golarion' is a fascinating reality (the quasi-Transylvanian 'Ustalav' setting has a middle-ages level of societal development full of superstition, thievery, and skullduggery, for example). "Pathfinders" are like a guild of mixed adventurer classes: wizards, sorcerers, assassins, thieves, etc. Within that matrix, Dave Gross plays. He writes with perhaps a bit too much tongue-in-cheek glee, but his writing is capable, his plotting is imaginative, and his description skills are unmatched.
As to presentation: Reader Paul Boehmer has a pleasant timbre + cadence - and a comfortable English accent - that's easy to listen to for hour after hour. Boehmer also demonstrates impeccable diction, great pacing, and a firm understanding of the author's intended tone. His only deficiencies are a touch too much natural sibilance at times & occasionally subpar voice-acting. Kudos to Audible Studios Inc. on this recording.
Altogether, 'Prince of Wolves' merits 8 stars out of 10. If you're a fan of the genre, it's worth your Credit.
