À propos de cet audio
Hilarious comedy caper set in Wales during the heyday of the Great British seaside holiday
Set up the deckchair, pop a hanky on your head and order an ice-cream with a flake, as you settle in for a hilarious trip to Llantwit-on-Sea. It’s the 1950s, the Great British holiday is booming and recently widowed Eirlys Richards runs a lively boarding house in this Welsh seaside town.
Wanting to spice up her life, Eirlys welcomes a lover into her holiday haven, however her other three lovers have something to say about this… Pet poodles, passionate chefs, hair-brained business schemes and brass playing bandmasters all vie for the enigmatic Eirlys’s attention in this fast paced and funny comedy drama packed full of charming characters and the laugh-out-loud situations they get themselves into. What did deckchair attendant Cox’n Hughes do to be barred from the local fisherman’s club, will the Punch and Judy auditions go smoothly and when will the lascivious town clerk get his comeuppance…?
Written by Christopher Denys and starring Nerys Hughes as Eirlys Richards, best known for her roles in BBC TV series The Liver Birds and The District Nurse, and Russell Boulter (The Bill) as Matthew Dolan, this delightful comedy celebrates the best of Wales with a cast of memorable characters.
Promenade Rock is a sunny seaside comedy that will have you in stitches. Listen now to the hilarious complete series, available to download for the time.
