Rabbits is a mysterious alternate reality game so vast it uses the entire world as its canvas.
Since the game started in 1959, 10 iterations have appeared and nine winners have been declared. The identities of these winners are unknown.
So is their reward, which is whispered to be NSA or CIA recruitment, vast wealth, immortality, or perhaps even the key to the secrets of the universe itself.
But the deeper you get, the more dangerous the game becomes. Players have died in the past - and the body count is rising.
And now the 11th round is about to begin.
Enter K - a Rabbits obsessive who has been trying to find a way into the game for years. That path opens when K is approached by billionaire Alan Scarpio, rumored to be the winner of the sixth iteration. Scarpio says that something has gone wrong with the game and that K needs to fix it before Eleven starts, or the whole world will pay the price.
Five days later, Scarpio is declared missing.
Two weeks after that, K blows the deadline: Eleven begins.
And suddenly, the fate of the entire universe is at stake.

I'm not Carly Parker and this isn't Rabbits.
If the podcast had you wanting more, I'm right there with you. Sadly, if you came looking for more of THAT Rabbits, you might find yourself a touch let down. Here we have a fantastic adventure featuring a few characters we know and love but characterized quite differently, many new characters full of charm and diversity on a fantastic adventure. what I didn't find was my Rabbits itch being scratched all that much.
Maybe I miss the dramatic and driving score that kept you guessing, perhaps it's the pacing and format, but I came here for the wrong reasons. I sure stayed for the right ones. This was a great journey with interesting twists and turns that managed to tell a familiar yet new story. While i was initially caught off guard by certain characters and their new interpretations, this was a fun story that kept me wondering.
All said, after escaping the sense I was losing something I loved, I found something new and different to love.

A bit repetetive
I feel like things were going in circles for a little bit. Promises to stop playing the game and breaking those promises were overused. And too many uses of "Holy shit!" seemed a bit forced.

Perseverance required
I purchased this book as a Daily Deal. I had never heard of the Rabbits podcast and have still not sought it out. Rather, I just listened to the book without any expectations. It is not my usual genre, but I like experimenting with difference types of audiobooks which (to me) seems like less of a commitment than buying a physical book. The first few hours and the last few hours of this book are great, four stars. The story moves along at a good clip and there is a lot of weird and wonderful stuff going on. The problem is the middle of the book which drags quite a bit. It feels like the author had written a good book but it was a bit short so he decided to pad the middle with a bunch of vaguely related content. If you persevere, I think the story wraps up nicely. A few reviewers found the ending to be "out there" but I think it was totally in keeping with the book as a whole. The narration is reasonably good as well. Overall, I am not sorry I listened to this book but I do not think I will bother with the next one in the series.

Play the game…
I wasn’t sure when I started whether this was going to be an adaptation of the existing podcast story, or something else entirely. I was absolutely delighted to find that it was a familiar world but with an bonkers new take on the game. I love what Terry Miles (or his cousin Nic, haha) do in the podcast world, and now I can’t wait to read another of his books.

Great Story. Absolutely loved it
What a wild ride. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the adventure that it took us on. Some parts could be a little bit confusing and if you have the ability to understand it then you are one step ahead of me, but for me personally, there were parts that I had to listen to again just to understand it. Definitely not a big deal though. The story is interesting and captivating and keeps the listener engaged. The narrator does a fantastic job and in my opinion the ultimate compliment that I could give her is that I don't even realize that she is there. She doesn't distract the listener from the novel at all. She does a great job. In conclusion I think that this novel is worth a listen to if you like adventure, fun and mystery. The portal is open....

a good listen, well worth it
was a little confused and slow at first due to the delay of when i listened to the original season 1 of the podcast and had to reaquaint myself with the lore and cast of characters.

meh
I expected a book that touts itself as being a mash up of the matrix/inception/ready player one/memento, to be more fun. I never really got attached to any of the characters, and there really wasn't much plot progression. Cool conceptual framework with a hollow center.
