À propos de cet audio
Life is changing for Canada's Anishnaabek Nation and for the wolf packs that share their territory.
In the late 1800s, both Native people and wolves are being forced from the land. Starving and lonely, an orphaned timber wolf is befriended by a boy named Red Wolf. But under the Indian Act, Red Wolf is forced to attend a residential school far from the life he knows, and the wolf is alone once more. Courage, love and fate reunite the pair, and they embark on a perilous journey home. But with winter closing in, will Red Wolf and Crooked Ear survive? And if they do, what will they find?

Very good story, not suitable for younger readers.
I found the story flowed wonderfully and was told well. Some of the language is strong at times, which is appropriate considering the subject matter, but may be considered too strong for some parents. That said, a very important book.

Not a Stand Out Amongst the rest, but still heartfelt
Like all novels, when reading a synopsis you kind of know what you’re getting into; there are many novels out there surrounding the impact of residential schools, and this isn’t a novel that stands out terribly from the rest. I did find that the novel got more interesting part way through and there are definitely plenty of heart wrenching moments. I’m still rating it highly because although it was a book I had to remind myself to pick back up, I had many thoughts and feelings while reading, which is what I love about stories.

Don’t waste your time and credits
Had to read this book because I was curious to see what my grade 7 boy was learning in school (this book was read to them at school during library time). The author is not indigenous, which is the first problem. Plus this book is not age appropriate for elementary students. Very graphic content of child abuse and dosed in kerosene… be aware.
