Ben Stuart felt the dual struggle in his early twenties of purposelessness and powerlessness. He wanted his life to have meaning, and he wanted to overcome his personal struggles, but the self-help books he read only left him feeling defeated and discouraged. Then, in college, he encountered professors and pastors who helped him see that his life, far from being a disjointed or isolated struggle, was part of a massive, compelling story that God had written. He had been invited into an epic adventure!

In this six-session Bible study, Ben shares how this knowledge led him to develop a practical strategy to battle against the enemy and build the life that God intended him to have. He helps group members to likewise deconstruct their destructive thinking and maximize their time, energy, and resources to construct their own lives of purpose. He reveals how they can rise up into the full stature of who God intended them to be and flourish in life—knowing that flourishing always involves fighting to secure the victory.

Rest and War is about pushing back chaos and bringing order, driving out the evil dictator and establishing the true King, and emerging from the valley to reach the hills on the other side.
