À propos de cet audio
Those restless hearts, that wander the night.
What are they in search of?
I’m sitting in a rear corner booth in Bud’s tavern, a known haunt for the walking wounded where they are looking for love in all the wrong places. Under the crimson glare of the bar’s lights, I stare out at a sea of empty lives.
Men and women searching for the momentary distraction of drunken comradery to numb themselves from the pain of their own reality. The décor reeks of a pervasive hopelessness that has settled even into the Formica tables; an air of desperation as thick as the spent Scotch fumes from the nearby table.
Believe it or not, here I find inspiration.
It is here, just like many other places in my past, I find my own restless heart searching for something that is no longer there; my youth.
No amount of alcohol or tobacco or restless nights lying in my bed in a cold sweat will ever bring my own restless heart to healing.
I must close my eyes, allow my mind to wander, and move backward in time to find my old self, my true self, if my own restless heart is to ever heal itself completely.
I must travel back to my youth, in order to find who I really am now.
I must travel back to 1976.
