The Torus is the most expensive machine ever created by humankind, run by the world's most powerful supercomputer. It is the brainchild of Nobel Laureate William North Hazelius. Will the Torus divulge the mysteries of the creation of the universe? Or will it, as some predict, suck the earth into a mini black hole? Or is the Torus a Satanic attempt, as a powerful televangelist decries, to challenge God Almighty on the very throne of Heaven? Twelve scientists under the leadership of Hazelius are sent to the remote mountain to turn it on.

Great adventure!
I love Preston & Child's books! I always begin wondering if there is any Supernatural situation happening or if there's going to be a logical explanation. I love that and I'm not going to spoil this one for you.
Who doesn't like hunting for pirate treasure? From the safety of your own space of course. I am fairly easy to please so I'm not going to get into detail about any of the technical aspects of this story because it doesn't matter to me. It's a work of fiction and fantasy and we can just enjoy it and accept it without questioning too much.
The narrator did an amazing job, he changed his vocal inflections depending who was speaking and there was no trouble following the characters at all. He even pulled off the voice of a young French lady. I thought that was beautiful and it was very perfectly done. All in all, I highly recommend the story.

A masterful performance of a fair novel
The story itself was enjoyable, but quite predictable. I put audiobook aside for a while, less than halfway through it, before reurning to finish it, because a minor twist aside, I pretty much knew how it was going to end. Still, a satisfying audiobook, brought to life with a brilliant reading by Scott Brick.
