À propos de cet audio
When Josie Jensen, an awkward 13-year-old musical prodigy, crashes headlong into newcomer Samuel Yazzie, an 18-year-old Navajo boy full of anger and confusion, an unlikely friendship blooms. Josie teaches Samuel about words, music, and friendship, and along the way finds a kindred spirit. Upon graduation, Samuel abandons the sleepy, small town in search of a future and a life, leaving his young mentor behind.
Many years go by and Samuel returns, finding his old friend in need of the very things she offered him years before. Their roles reversed, Samuel teaches Josie about life, love, and letting go. Deeply romantic and poignant, Running Barefoot is the story of a small-town girl and a Native American boy, the ties that bind them to their homes and families, and the love that gives them wings.

Just Okay
2.5 stars rounded up. Amy Harmon is a good writer but the religious themes were just too much. The book came off as preachy and did little to distinguish itself from other coming of age/romances.

Interesting read and great love story
Very well crafted story, interesting references to indigenous and christian beliefs (even though I'm neither) and well balanced. Great narrator. My only let down was the ending.....marriage....would have been nice to have something more at end, maybe another chapter on how they make out. Wedding at the end just seemed to cliche.

Could be a great book, but ...
I was really enjoying the first part of the book, from the first pages I started to like the main characters. But, by the middle of the book, when the religious views took over, the book made me frustrated. It just felt that the author started to preach by shoving the religion down the readers throat. My frustration with the religious preaching culminates by the end of the book when Josie’s father puts out the idea that God got Kasey (Josie’s fiancée) to be killed so Josie and Samuel can be happy together. It is such a bizarre and cruel way of thinking that I don't have any more words to explain my disappointment with this book.
