A great start to a new story
This book reached out to me in a way that I wasn’t expecting. There are some graphic allusions of how inhumanely humanity can act. I must fully admit that a graphic description of what a character was experiencing while being taken to a savage fate made me rethink some of my consumption. When human beings are looked down upon and treated like animals by beings who see them selves as superior; it calls into question our moral footing for how humans treat animals.
Solid writing, stoic and emotional performance.

Narration is not good.
I love the GE world. This narrator was hard to listen to. If you're okay with sitting down and reading, I suggest you do so, instead of listening to this book.

Long buildup, good ending.
The story took along time to build and I almost stopped at one point but it was worth hanging in for. Great book in the end. If you haven't listen to the main series I would maybe stay away until after.

Amazing and Stephen does a great job.
A bit hard to go from Bray to Stephen but I can honestly say it's so well done and a great read to boot.

Second half really takes off
If you're looking for more lore on the Savages you'll definitely get some with this book. I always found the Savages very vaguely described in OG series so this helps to fill in some blanks. Also a few fun Easter eggs and full on return of some characters. The second half is much better as the narrative finds its focus.
Like others have mentioned Lang isn't a great narrator but he's probably not the worst you've ever heard.

Exciting listen on my drives.
Be nice if there were multiple narrators, female as applicable to characters, and ages. Going to bet hardcopy to revisit this entertaining book.

Good story, terrible narration
I’m glad there’s a series covering the savage wars and the story is good but the narration is nearly unbearable. Character voices aren’t consistent, the narrators voice switches in pitch, volume and speed and he seems to switch back and forth from an American to a British(?) accent inexplicably. You can clearly tell where they edited together different segments of the story because of the sudden changes in tone and it makes the whole thing feel cobbled together. Fortunately the narrator seemed to find his footing about 1/2 way through which made it a bit better but it’s still rough. I’d recommend this if you were really into in the main Galaxy’s Edge series but don’t expect anything like what you would get from R.C Bray
