The looming war with Darrow has faded to a distant shadow, but Will’s continued studies at Wurthaven are disrupted by an unforeseen threat.

Selene’s absence has raised suspicion among her friends and Will’s father-in-law, the king, is now directing his ire at the obvious culprit: his daughter’s new husband. Meanwhile, the citizens of Cerria have begun disappearing and a shadowy figure is stalking Will’s sister, Laina.

With his power pushed to the limit, Will finds himself attempting to preserve a family that rejected him and trying to save a city whose king might rather see him dead. Desperate for help, he may not be able to trust the powers that have supported him in the past, for though the fae could be the source of the catastrophe, they only offer their assistance for a price. Evil stalks the streets of Cerria at night, seeking the blood of his family, the destruction of the city, and the death of the king.

Will may have to decide what is most important for Terabinia: preserving the people of its most prosperous city or saving its questionable ruler.

Amazing story.and even better Narration

Excellent Series

Have found these books very delightful and entertaining with the right touches of drama, suspense and humour. Tim Gerard Reynolds does his usual magic with the narration breathing life into each character.

Amazing listen!

Loved ever second of it. Great adventure, great story. Amazing reader really gives voice to all the different characters.

worth it

The story picks up the pace, and maintains the humour and sense of wonder from the first two novels. Narration was spot on, and added value to the experience. Worth it.

Absolutely fantastic

Finishing this was like finishing a well prepared 3 course meal. This book has nearly everything and does it all right. Even the narrator is great. i sincerely hope that this series gets the praise and success it deserves. And if this book is anything to judge by, its only going to get better.

This version as terrible mixing

Great sequel with characters we know and love. The voice actor still do a great job, but the sound engineer / editor dropped the ball hard. From phone notifications sound in the background, to very jarring change in sound quality, profile and volume. I genualy don't understand why they publish the audiobook in its current state.
