Emily is a teenage girl pulled from our world into a world of magic and mystery by a necromancer who intends to sacrifice her to the dark gods.

Throughout the story Emily blames herself for everything that goes wrong. Her egotistical narcissism makes me roll eyes because of course someone who never experienced magic would know everything about it and therefore should have been able to prevent things people with three and four times her life experience have.
