Teaches you how to check in on yourself
I found this book to be repetitious, but that does indeed drill it in to your head how to practice self help. It details how to do self check ins, including practicing the 8 “C’s”; curiosity, calmness, connectedness, clarity, compassion, creativity, courage, and confidence. This book is like a workbook where it would be much easier to have a physical copy of the literature however, you can pause the audiobook to practice what she is teaching where it prompts you to. She manages to take complex concepts, such as internal family systems and explains it in a way that a layperson can understand. I found this book to be very beneficial and I would recommend it to anyone who struggles with any mental health issues such as anxiety or depression.
Gabby has a very soothing voice which made this audiobook really easy to listen to.

Typical, Generic Self-Help Book
I was looking for an introduction to IFS, and sure enough there is an explanation and some good exercises within, but most of the book is filled with that bloated, repetitive language of the positive spirituality genre (not to mention making up her own spiritual definition of the word 'Self' that is quite unbearable and used extensively throughout) , and lacking in an interesting, informative perspective from someone with an educated background and a depth of clinical experience that I was hoping for.
