Good story poorly performed
I really like this author and love audiobooks...I've listened to hundreds of them. My question with this one is why oh why use a narrator putting on an obviously fake and cringe-worthy British accent when there are so many excellent British narrators talented in performing the range of dialects called for??? The poorly executed accents are so distracting I'm not sure I can finish listening to the book. Unless there is a change in future narrations of this series I will move to reading the books instead.

Amazing intriguing story
My first book by Deanna Raybourn, enjoyed the story and characters immensely. The narration was great just downloading the second in the series.

Good story; poor narration
Good, fast-paced story. The narrator’s terrible accents detracted from the experience. I’m not sure I would recommend this audio book as a consequence.

Dragged out story
Story line meandered unnecessarily. Instead of capturing and holding reader’s interest for the next salient clue, it dragged. Felt the story needed to edited more precisely to clear away some rambling passages.

Worst narrator ever
The story is quite good but the narrator is literally the worst I have ever heard. Her attempts at different accents made me cringe every time and her pronunciation of words is extremely irritating. Her interpretation of Lady Julia made me hate the character and overall she really ruined my immersion into the story. I would recommend reading the books instead of listening to this version.

Blithely Twisted Tale
For a regency mystery, I was a little off-put by how twisty this tale turned out to be. The narrator (who sounds remarkably like Kate Beckinsale) was wonderful, but this book was frightfully slow, & when details DID pan out, it was just a little on the gross side for mr taste in fiction.
