À propos de cet audio
Far be it for me to assume that I possess the power to cast a spell or imagine that a simple word could conjure images or tell stories or spin a yarn that would last a lifetime. With my camera, I can only take photographs of things that are real, things I see, and things that will be shared by others if they only look at them. Yet, in some way, some mysterious way, each of us sees things that can change our lives.
From morning to evening, we push and pull our imaginations through this cloudy vapor called time. For me, I journey through the lens of my camera to capture the unexpected, hidden from others. Inadvertently, we share moments with people we meet, family we greet, and loved ones we hold dear. We share our adventures and discoveries with them. In the fading light of evening's dying breath as it succumbs to the darkness in which it will slumber, my camera captured something that no one was supposed to see, my ears heard something it was supposed to have heard. On one lovely day when it had just started to sprinkle rain, I walked in the park and down a lesser-used path until I came across a narrow clearing. There, unknown to those I saw, my camera stood silently, motionless, captivated.
In this least expected place and this least expected time, my camera’s shutter opened a door I couldn’t shut. It’s this door that I’ve walked through that holds the greatest adventure but also the greatest danger. I’m Ramon Garces, photographer.
