Harmful Outdated Views

I usually abandon any work created by someone who holds terrible misguided notions, but I decided to finish listening to this piece. I usually was able to suppress the urge to yell at the audiobook, as the author repeatedly expressed archaic notions about marriage, sexist insinuations, homophobic rhetoric, and overly religious views on soul connections. These outdated and harmful ideas have no business being published, certainly not in the 21st century! If she could have left all those aspects out of this work, it would be an acceptable work. I did enjoy the book during the rare points when she kept the focus on soul connections sans the aforementioned harmful notions. And I could usually filter out the true, underlying meaning of what she was communicating in such a misguided way, but sometimes what was communicated was just too off-putting for that. I do not recommend this book; look for something more intune with cosmic truth, less with religion and constricting societal convention.
