À propos de cet audio
People travel from afar to a small isle in the Aegean Sea hoping for a single glimpse of Princess Psyche. Their adoration for the mortal woman is so all-consuming that citizens begin to shower her with the very gifts and offerings they once left at the altar of Venus, goddess of love and beauty. But gods are known for their jealousy.
Cupid, the god of love, takes pleasure in causing strife and mischief in the lives of humans. He uses love as a weapon, amusing himself with the weaknesses of people who are at the whim of their feelings. When his mother, Venus, approaches him about punishing the human girl who dares to steal her offerings and affections from the people, Cupid gladly accepts. Psyche's punishment is to be given to a mysterious creature, who only comes to her in the dark of night, under a pact that she will never lay eyes on him. She is terrified of this stranger, who the oracle described as a serpent. Her mate, however, is masterful in his dealings with his bride. He takes his time, morphing her fears into different sensations completely.

Psyche is a kind, sweet princess who must pay for the sacrilege of her family by offering herself as a bride to a perceived monster. As she spends more time with her new husband, she begins to learn that all is not what it seems, and that her new husband may be more than just a monster.
Psyche is as sweet as can be. She is a little too perfect, though her greatest flaw is her naivete. While this does go hand in hand with the myth, I found myself wishing she had a few more personality flaws. In contrast, Cupid didn't seem to understand that his actions could be taken as aggression. The dynamic mostly worked, though I found there were some moments where it seemed like the miscommunication was damaging, and Psyche just couldn't see it.
The plot had very little action until the last few chapters, where Psyche was forced to undergo a series of challenges, but much of the book focused on the challenging relationship between the two main characters. The prose was easy to understand, though ther were some modern terms thrown in that confused me a little.
This is a great book if you're looking for something sexy and simple to read over a day or a weekend. It was enjoyable and a bit spicy, and I had a good time reading it!
Enjoyable Romance
