À propos de cet audio
According to the Education Endowment Fountain, in September 2020, 20-25 percent of children starting school needed help with language skills compared with the previous year.
Are you worried that your child isn’t showing the typical social interaction skills for their age? Are you waiting for a referral and frustrated there isn’t more you can do? Is your child receiving speech and language therapy, but do you want to do more for them?
According to Mencap, there are approximately 351,000 children in the UK with a learning disability. In the US, 17 percent of children have delays in physical, learning, language, or behavior development. It doesn’t stop there. Worldwide, there are around 18.5 million people with speech, voice, or language disorders! If you yourself don’t have or never have had a speech and language delay or disorder, it’s nearly impossible to understand what your little one is going through.
Logically, the first step is to start the diagnosis process to get professional help, but trust me, as a speech and language therapist, the waiting list is horrendous and does nothing to help with the essential early intervention that children need. So, as well as your job, your other children, the cleaning, the shopping, the homework, the washing, the ironing, the uniforms, the afterschool activities, oh, and the cooking, you now have to research how to help your children with their speech, language, and social interaction skills!
In Speech Therapy Games, you will discover:
- 137 games and activities that require everyday objects you have at home—or just your time
- Eight age-appropriate checklists to know that your child is on the right track
- Amazing insights into leading authorities and the latest research in the field of early and social interactions
- Recipes to create with your little one—from biscuits to face paint
- Fifteen social stories that you can adapt to help your child from going to the dentist to making friends—plus a free comic strip conversation to inspire you!
What if one book could take just a fraction of that pressure off you?
In Speech Therapy for Toddlers: Develop Phonological Awareness to Overcome Speech Articulation Difficulties using Fun Speech Sound-Related Cooking Recipes and Educational Activities, we have lightened the load and you will discover:
- Eighty-one recipes from sweets to savories from all over the world and with ingredients at hand!
- Recipes that have been specifically created to develop speech sounds for every child
- 107 games and activities related to speech sounds to reinforce the sound they have learnt in the recipe.
- Yoga and exercises to help children stay active as well as healthy habits and safety advice
How do you know if this book will be appropriate for your child’s age? We are breaking away from the dangerous habit of labelling children and comparing them to children in the same age group. Your child is unique.
