À propos de cet audio
The fire that burns...
It can lay low a dragon or heal a wounded warrior.
It is the most sought-after magical power in all Faern.
And it is in the reluctant hands of Shandril of Highmoon, a young, orphaned kitchen-lass.
Now she's on the run from half of the evil sorcerers in the land, not to mention their relentless minions. But with the help of a handsome young wizard, some rough-and-tumble Knights of Myth Drannor, and a certain old mage of Shadowdale, she just might manage to stay alive.
At least until tomorrow.
An all-new expanded version of Ed Greenwood's classic tale, including a new forward by the author.
One of Ed Greenwood's most popular novels, Spellfire is being rereleased in an all-new audio edition. This version has been completely reedited and contains added material that bring new excitement to the story. This edition is classified as the first title in the brand-new Forgotten Realms series Shandril's Saga.

It is the time before Myth Drannor, when the Heartlands are home to barbarians, and wicked dragons rule the skies. In these ancient days, Elminster is but a shepherd boy, dreaming of adventure and heroics. Histoire
Renegade dragon hunter Dorn hates dragons with a passion few can believe, let alone match. He has devoted his entire life - a life spent in the twisted body of a half-golem - to killing every dragon he can find. You might feel the same way if one of them had killed your entire family in front of your eyes, bitten you in half, and left you for dead. Killing one dragon at a time is hard enough, but when the irresistible impluse to slip into feral madness begins to overcome not one but every dragon all across Faern, civilization's only hope may lie in the last alliance Dorn and his fellow dragon hunters would ever accept.

On the fabled world of Krynn, Lord Soth finally learns that there is a price to pay for his long history of evil deeds, a price even an undead warrior might find horrifying. Dark powers transport Soth to Barovia, and there the death knight must face the dread minions of Count Strahn Von Zarovich, the vampire lord of the nightmare land. But with only a captive Vistani woman and an untrustworthy ghost for allies, Lord Soth soon discovers that he may have to join forces with the powerful vampire if he is ever to escape the realm of terror.

Histoire
Ages ago, sorcerers of unmatched power sundered a world into four realms—sky, stone, fire, and water—then vanished. Over time, magicians learned to work spells only in their own realms and forgot the others. Now only the few who have survived the Labyrinth and crossed the Death Gate know of the presence of all four realms—and even they have yet to unravel the mysteries of their severed world. . . .

Amazing book, but performance is not great
This is an amazing book that has it all for Forgotten Realms fans: the origin story of Shandril Shessair, the Knights of Myth Drannor, lots of Elminster, great battle scenes, lots of dragons, and of course, spellfire. Unfortunately, the performance is very hard to enjoy. I would describe it as 'halting', where there are just wierd pauses. Still, the story and characters are must read for fans of AD&D, Shadowfale, and the world of Faerun.

Ed Greenwood is my fav author's, fav author
Ed Greenwood is my favorite author's, R A Salvatore's, favorite author. So i wanted to know why and how he may have influenced and I was not disappointed
Usually a novel has only a few good lines, but this author kicks them out so they're crawling all over the pages.
"Some mages think they can change the world and sometimes the Gods let them get away with it."
Hearing that line makes you think, oh my what are we going to read now!
And the discriptions. I love Salvatore's descriptions. I've read homeland so many time, but Greenwood is definitely a pool to draw influence from.
And just when you think the story is over, because i don't count the hours I've listened, you realize what was just resolved presents a new problem that has to be fixed. And the story goes on. Absolutely a delight. I can see why Greenwood was one of the founders for many games. He's def a master world builder

...narrated by an english Forrest Gump
J.P. Cronin tries too hard on the English accent, all the women and the Apptentice Mage Narm sounded like an English Forrest Gump. I almost gave up listening after chapter 10.
