À propos de cet audio

Astra Bishop loves her job as a reiki master. There's only one problem. She believes one of her clients is stealing her energy. She gets a bad vibe, and Astra is all about vibes and energies. So when the elderly woman holds her up at gunpoint, Astra is caught between her feelings being vindicated that she knew something was off, and fearing for her life. It's not like she can defend herself against the little old lady!

Blaze has been waiting a long time for his mate. Too long. The alpha is all about ready to give up hope as he watches younger wolf shifters mate up before him. When he gets a call from another wolf alpha, he heads into Salem. The rescue mission is simple. Take the witch someplace safe and protect her from the Order of Salem. He is floored when he discovers that the redheaded beauty is his mate.

He has finally found everything he has been waiting for, but he has to convince Astra that she's his mate. Locked up in his shifter bar, the wolf and the witch will learn that they have a lot in common. Too bad the Order of Salem has tracked them down, and they're out for blood. Will they get their happily-ever-after or will Blaze's search for happiness end in heartache?

On Chapter 7

I'm only on chapter 7 and I'm already enjoying this book SO much more than the last two! I mean it too! I have zero complaints whatsoever and the positives are so far, many.

The readers have improved, although the male was always pretty decent.

The cheesiness has gone way down so far, the Characters are much more likeable and nothing like the other four. I am quite enjoying myself with this novel. I've even found myself chuckling at a few of the jokes and such throughout. I am so pleasantly surprised by this! I hope the story continues in this vein!

-- I have finished the story and really hope others will stick the first two out to get here. --

Astra is a breath of fresh air to an otherwise suffocating storyline. The first two novels in this series have near sub zero on this one. Her cousins seem so stuffy and unreasonable in comparison, and I felt so much closer to Astra than I ever did Raven or Cerise. She is fun and calm and so easy going! I love her cereal thing. Absolutely every time she mentions cereal I cracked up. I hadn't really gotten any emotion out from the first two novels but both Astra and Blaze were so much more fun to read about! I could honestly listen to the rest of the series happily if it just followed those two.

I'm genuinely worried that after feeling so much more akin to the characters in Spellstruck, I'm going to be disappointed with the next(/final?) book in the series. If it is in fact the final, I would absolutely love a series about their everyday lives as wolves' wives and to that would even prefer one about their children! Imagine each witch had a set of wolf/witch hybrid twins?! I really feel like a book about their shenanigans would be so much fun!

Continuing on, I genuinely felt this novel deserves full stars. I still would never rate them as the best series in the world, I've read many of the classics, the entire Harry Potter series (top notch worldbuilding and awesome plot, I recognize the writing isn't the best, but I feel it's still better than this series by a decently long shot) ...twice, and some of my absolute favourite stories were written by Shakespeare (Othello and King Lear) after all, but this story shows that the author is improving dramatically and quickly. I feel like the sex scenes still could use some work, mostly in that they are quite repetitive in their wordage; that said, it's nothing a good thesaurus, and understanding of the English language can't solve.

I gave full stars for the Presentation as well.

The male VA has always been excellent, the only thing off being mispronounciation every now and then, but otherwise, he has been excellent. I especially enjoy his female voices. They sound more feminine without sounding ridiculous, nor like he's trying too hard.

The female VA has much improved. She still puts emphasis in the wrong spot sometimes, this time the example I found most apparent was one of the sex scenes where she sounded like an excited child, instead of an aroused woman. I feel like she needs to find a way to portray "sexy" during the scenes, where she just sounds like an especially skilled 12th grader reading a speech, just increasing volume when faced with an exclamation mark. I also found she still puts the wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable. I gave all five stars to her preformance in this particular book because her aforementioned flaws were not as obvious nor as numerous within its pages. Her reading was still not perfect, but the missteps were no where near enough to warrant removing a star.

Please stick out the first two books if only to get to this one. The characters are adorable and way more relatable, the plot was DIFFERENT from the first two books, although similar enough to fit into the storyline and the humor and pacing were on point. I both can't wait and am scared to listen to the bext book. See you at the end of the next review! Oh, and thanks so much for reading. I know it's a lot! ♡
