Thought-Provoking Story. Overproduced.
This is one of the most cerebral Spider-Man storylines ever written. Niel Kleid provides a strikingly mature psychological exploration of the existential angst of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, yes.. but also of villains Sergei Kravinov and Edward Whalen/Vermin. He uses a plot device where Kraven The Hunter assumes the identity of Spider-Man to destroy Peter's
sense of self.. proving Kraven the superior. Vermin is used as a stand-in for Peter's worthiness as a hero in a remarkably nuanced metaphor-heavy tale that incorporates some uncommonly dark themes & imagery for a Marvel story (multiple funerals/burials, cannibalism, several brutal murders, a completed suicide, and an attempted rape).
Unfortunately, Graphic Audio let the story down with an over-the-top production. The performances from the full cast of voice-actors are commendable - but the incidental music, background noises, and sound effects overwhelm the dialogue and action. They seem unable to hold back (we don't need to hear every single gravelly footstep as someone runs down the street).
Even factoring in the subpar presentation, this recording of the 'Kraven's Last Hunt' plotline is well worth a listen. I rate it 7.5 stars out of 10.

Liked but didn’t love
Not too sure if it’s because i know the story from the comic, but I was a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it but being inside the head of Vermin was off putting and at times so was being in Kraven’s head. Basically vermin is murdering and eating woman in the sewer and the noises it makes are truly disturbing. This wasn’t so much a audiobook as much a production with the music and voice over. Call me old fashion but I like someone just reading it

not very good
just a very boring storyline and not much action. The middle 3 hours are just repetitive
