When the Jedi Order falls, an Inquisitor Rises.
Padawan Iskat Akaris has dedicated her life to traveling the galaxy alongside her master, learning the ways of the Force to become a good Jedi. Despite Iskat’s dedication, peace and control have remained elusive, and with each setback, she feels her fellow Jedi grow more distrustful of her. Already uncertain about her future in the Jedi Order, Iskat faces tragedy when her master is killed and the Clone Wars engulf the galaxy in chaos.
Now a general on the front lines contributing to that chaos, she is often reminded: Trust in your training. Trust in the wisdom of the Council. Trust in the Force. Yet as the shadows of doubt take hold, Iskat begins to ask questions that no Jedi is supposed to ask. Questions about her own unknown past. Questions the Jedi Masters would consider dangerous.
As the years pass and the war endures, Iskat’s faith in the Jedi wanes. If they would grant her more freedom, she is certain she could do more to protect the galaxy. If they would trust her with more knowledge, she could finally cast aside the shadows that have begun to consume her. Worth the buy!
Great story, excellent perspective of the inquisitors. The timeline is also especially interesting. Very few stories are told at this point in the Star Wars.

great book
really enjoyed, story, voice acting & sound effects were good. The only complaint I would have was the end. The epilog felt rushed and sloppy compared to the rest of the book. still totally worth reading.

I FOUND THIS FANTASTIC
I honestly did not know what to expect going into this book. when it first started I had to get used to the narration that I am used to hearing, mark thompson. after I warmed up to the narration a couple of chapters in I was pleasantly surprised. this book was so enjoyable and an excellent story. I highly recommend

Binged this in just over 24 hrs
really good. if you've ever felt like you were different or alone in a crowded room you'll enjoy this star wars story. some of the twists and plots were a bit telegraphed but overall great book.

This one is a struggle
Unlikeable character with severely questionable motivations.
The inquisitors make no sense, call each other brother and sister but constantly and unnecessarily threatening or trying to kill each other.
It’s getting tiresome having expanded universe turn Vader into some mindless overpowered killing machine. Vader is brutal but he is not brainless and does not unnecessarily battle everybody. Why is he fighting every single inquisitor? What does he gain from this?
Meaningless battles and deaths abound. No satisfactory conclusion, and makes the inquisitors look like some brainless collective of raging idiots.
One of the worst Star Wars books in the new canon.

Terrible second half
This book started out so good, but the second half was a mess. I was so intrigued by the mysteries the book presented at first, but their resolutions all disappointed. Really poorly plotted. Good narrator, though.

Please do not spend your money on this
This book was poorly written. The epilogue turned the story from a frustrating tragic mess to a complete disaster, story-wise. The character is selfish and has a sadistic bent, yet she blames everyone around her. She thinks everyone is out to get her, but it’s just in her head. Also canon wise, it makes the idea that multiple Jedi survive the purge less realistic. Just before order 66 it seems like there was only several handfuls of Jedi left. And of those many of them become inquisitors. So kinda anticlimactic. There was was no attempt to make your relate with the main character, like some darkside books. This is a very low point for Star Wars books. Please do not spend money on this book!
