À propos de cet audio
Spotlighting an extraordinary career, this autobiography reviews the author’s accomplishments working and playing alongside some of Canada’s greatest writers. These humorous chronicles relate the projects he brainstormed for writer Barry Broadfoot, how he convinced eventual Nobel Prize contender Alice Munro to keep writing short stories, his early morning phone call from a former Prime Minister, and his recollection of yanking a manuscript right out of Alistair MacLeod’s own reluctant hands - which ultimately garnered MacLeod one of the world’s most prestigious prizes for fiction. Insightful and entertaining, this collection of tales provides an inside view of Canadian politics and publishing that is rarely revealed, going behind the scenes and between the covers to divulge a treasure trove of literary adventures.

Sampler Pack of Canadian Authors
Having recently finished Margaret Atwood's amazing audiobook "Alias Grace", I was feeling somewhat apprehensive about finding as good an audiobook without a strong recommendation from a friend. Douglas Gibson has turned out to be that friend! His collection of stories about Canadian Authors is funny and kind and told in a way that allows the reader to feel as though they are in a warm conversation about friends. This book has opened up several new worlds for me and will make my future book selections much easier in the upcoming years to come. Thank you Douglas for this unique book allowing us glimpses into lives of some of Canada's best storytellers.

Great book for those interested in CDN writers
The book provides a high level biography of 20+ of the best Canadian fiction and nonfiction writers of the 20th century and their best books. It also provides many interesting and amusing anecdotes about the relationship between each writer and their editor (this book's author, Douglas Gibson).
