À propos de cet audio

"While exploring the evidence for an afterlife, I witnessed some unbelievable things that are not supposed to be possible in our material world. Yet they were unavoidably and undeniably real. Despite my initial doubt, I came to realize that there are still aspects of nature which are neither understood or accepted, even though their reality has profound implications for understanding the true breadth of the human psyche and its possible continuity after death."

So begins Leslie Kean's impeccably researched investigation, revealing stunning and wide-ranging evidence suggesting that consciousness survives death. In her groundbreaking second book, she continues her examination of unexplained phenomena that began with her provocative New York Times best seller UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record.

Kean explores the most compelling case studies of young children reporting verifiable details from past lives, contemporary mediums who seem to defy the boundaries of the brain and of the physical world, apparitions providing information about their lives on earth, and people who die and then come back to report journeys into another dimension. Based on facts and scientific studies, Surviving Death includes fascinating chapters by medical doctors, psychiatrists, and PhDs from four countries.

As a seasoned journalist whose work transcends belief systems and ideology, Kean enriches the narrative by including her own unexpected, confounding experiences encountered while she probed the question concerning all of us: Do we survive death?

nice summary of after life accounts

I enjoyed the beginning of the book but then it dives on the topic of mediums heavily to appoint that it saturates the reader with this topic. it does provide a good report on overall about the subject

Worst Example of Investigative Journalism

I bought this book because I loved UFOs, her previous book. I thought she would be meticulous, unbiased (as much as anyone can be), and fairly represent the science. What I got instead is pseudoscience, an open bias ("I believe in the paranormal") and as penchant for the fantastical. I especially am annoyed by the fact that she unfairly summarises the scientific establishment by giving the impression there is either consensus or an important minority that believes in paranormal activity. I in fact find her research so bad that I'm questioning whether I should dismiss her earlier book UFOs as garbage (which is unfortunate because I loved it).

Was it entertaining? Yes. Hell it's a page turner - the stories are riveting and her book is well-organised. BUT in the end... only the believing will come away convinced. If you're skeptical by nature, prepare to be further convinced that this subject matter in general is mostly garbage.
