T Kingfisher never disappoints
I love the Clockwork/Saint of Steel world and this was a wonderful addition. Excellent narration as well.

I smiled the whole time
The female main character was such a breath of fresh air. She is a chubby middle aged widow who made me smile and laugh for hours.
The narrator is very good. Actually sounds like different people and you know who is speaking without being told. Emotion was well emulated, impressed.

Fantastic
Great narrator. I loved how she did the different voices and really brought the characters to life. Also the story itself was so touching. I loved the characters and really felt the author loves them as well and just wanted the best for them as people. I loved how the story subverted some of the usual fantasy tropes as well.

Brilliant Performance
This fun story was brought to life by Jesse V.'s narration. She really brought nuance to the dialogue.
I hope T. Kingfisher continues this series, I'd sure like to know what happened to The Dervish and Angharad Shieldborn.

My Favourite Romantasy!
I knew I’d enjoy SWORDHEART from its opening line. I did not expect to fall madly, deeply in love with it and completely devour the story. It’s charming, hilarious, endearing, well written, and packed with characters you can’t help but cheer for. I can’t sing its praises enough.
Halla is a housekeeper who’s inherited a major family fortune, which includes a magical sword that conjures a centuries old warrior named Sarkis. As it becomes clear that Halla’s family is determined to take her fortune for themselves, Halla and Sarkis go on the run to prove her inheritance, all while fighting a growing attraction to each other.
Halla and Sarkis are perfection. She is energetic, sweet, funny, clever, and endearing. A woman who has been sheltered most of her life, Halla is not a conventional hero, but I would do anything for her. Sarkis is her excellent foil. Witty, protective, loyal, smart, with just a dash of grump, he is as swoonworthy as any romantasy hero. Together, these two are an unstoppable, hilarious force. And this is even before we get to the side characters!
The plot is easy to follow, packed with adventure and imagination, and unbelievably fun. The romance between Halla and Sarkis is so sweet and refreshing, I would read a million books about them.
I keep mentioning how funny this book is, because I can’t remember the last time a book made me laugh out loud. The writing is so sharp, Kingfisher doing what she does best, and I never wanted this story to end.
SWORDHEART was an impulse by because of that gorgeous hardcover (though I listened to the audiobook with excellent, enthusiastic narration), and it’s one of my top reads of 2025. A must read for lovers of cozy romantasy!
