À propos de cet audio

Nearly a decade ago Frank McCourt became an unlikely star when, at the age of 66, he burst onto the literary scene with Angela's Ashes, the Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir of his childhood in Limerick, Ireland. Then came 'Tis, his glorious account of his early years in New York.

Now here at last, is McCourt's long-awaited audiobook about how his thirty-year teaching career shaped his second act as a writer. Teacher Man is also an urgent tribute to teachers everywhere. In bold and spirited prose featuring his irreverent wit and heartbreaking honesty, McCourt records the trials, triumphs, and surprises he faces in public high schools around New York City.

amazing story, great delivery.

I can feel the emotion, the angst. I am sad it's his last book! RIP Mr. McCourt, thank you for sharing.💙

Frank McCourt at his best

I love Frank’s humour and love the way he says miserable. Like the word was invented for poor Catholics from Ireland. Beyond his humour, there is so much suffering and torment that comes through Frank’s writing. If someone asked me what this book was about. I could say it in 1 sentence as you won’t remember the way he says the rest of it, but you can hear him rant all day.
I would encourage Frank to keep writing and perhaps shock people with a book totally unrelated to suffering. I am for sure richer for having read his books. So thanks Frank.

That Voice

I could listen to Frank McCourt tell me a story all day long.

Shorter than his other books, it tells a few nice stories about his time as a teacher and I can assume, the influence he had on so many students.

he reminds me of my own English teacher, who used to sit on the desk and tell his stories of growing up, and then somehow we'd be learning a lesson, you knew you had been tricked into learning, but you were happy about the class.

Not as tragic as Angela's Ashes or T'is, but still told in such a beautifully descriptive tone. I wish he had more books.
