David Hatcher Childress
À propos de cet audio
Popular Lost Cities author David Hatcher Childress takes us into the amazing world of ancient technology, from computers in antiquity to the flying machines of the gods. Childress looks at the technology that was allegedly used in Atlantis and the theory that the Great Pyramid of Egypt was originally a gigantic power station.
He examines tales of ancient flight and the technology that it involved; how the ancients used electricity; megalithic building techniques; the use of crystal lenses and the fire from the gods; evidence of various high tech weapons in the past, including atomic weapons; ancient metallurgy and heavy machinery; the role of modern inventors such as Nikola Tesla in bringing ancient technology back into modern use; impossible artifacts; and more.

Definitely entertaining
take it with a grain of salt, but it is certainly fascinating and thought provoking.

Badly Needs An Index/PDF
The mandate of this David Hatcher Childress book - to provide an encyclopedic survey of hard-to-explain archeological finds - is met quite effectively. Childress organizes and explains the entries in the catalog nicely.
Unfortunately, the unapologetic pseudo-archeologist doesn't collate them into a coherent thesis in this book - merely ascribing thought-provoking findings to "The Ancients".. without really discussing the hypothetical race that presumably introduced the technology/engineering to mankind. Maybe in other offerings?
The presentation of the book is likewise disappointing. To be certain, reader Paul Woodson is professional - and sounds remarkably interested considering the text that he's given - but I wasn't blown away. This is a distinctly unspectacular narration. In addition, this book is completely unsuited to the audiobook format to begin with.. and Tantor Audio Inc. producers do *nothing* to rectify it.
The simple inclusion of a searchable Chapter Menu would improve this product markedly.. but as it stands it only rates 4.5/10-stars. A PDF including photographs, figures, etc. is nearly obligatory for the book, too, but is conspicuously absent.
If you're really interested in the subject matter, buy a text version. As a free/included audiobook, 'Technology Of The Gods' wasn't a complete waste of time, I suppose.. but spend your Credit elsewhere if they ask for one.

Not what I expected from Mr. Childress
Brings out some interesting points, but does not keep the listener engaged and wanting more
