A Pretty Decent Novela IMO
So for what i thought this story/novel series would have been, I really expected more and more action. This felt more like a novela imo. A story of True born human/survivor of a great war which stems from a previous series (EMBER WARS) I havent read it yet but seems thats the prequel. books 4-6 seem to bring to an end an ongoing war where earth is losing and well the same artificially made humans who are or were to be discontinued and killed off due to an agreement to stem or stop aliens from seeking war with humanity comes about to save the day with a great evil weapon for the good of Earth. An easy peace is made and now the Main characters have managed to somewhat come to terms with all their past vendettas.
I'm a little pissed at how one of the armour candidates the japanese/asian chick gets booted out and later reintroduced as a doctor and yet main char doesnt get to hear or see her. Then a sudden love happens between a procedural admiral. o.O There was no real romance other than seldom dates. o.O Main char ends up making enemies of past team mates(lance Mate) yet becomes somewhat friends or equals near the end.
This whole thing seemed to be more about a vendetta between people with power trip hunger and yet dumb leadership using said power trip tendencies lol. The mech usage felt like i was reading STARSHIP TROOPERS style which is cool. Though it was more bad ass Knight templar style. Idk I liked it but i was expecting more real bad ass action like mostly. I mean its mechs lol.
There was a huge portion of a kind of religion based in here kinda sorta the ideals of how Christianity played a role in the olden days vs almost the way it was ...well it was implanted into the story.
I give this a 7-8/10 Author did justice to the book so no complaints. Its just awkward how that one of the bad guy turns out to be good guy and the original good guys are derps and clowns yet bad guys. MAIN characters team seem to be fighting for the wrong side yet right side. idk lol Seems confusing.
Now at the end the good guys the ibarans seem to now are gonna commit to a war against everyone who comes against them and humanity.
Meh give it a read/listen. I managed to finish it. <3 hope someone else manages to enjoy and get tru it.
