Favourite Poirot

Cards on the Table is my favourite Poirot book and Hugh Fraser does an immaculate job as narrator. Of course, hearing him play Captain Hastings again was a real treat. The Big Four was more of a bonus. You can buy Cards on the Table separately, but why would you when you can get two for the price of one? It’s one of the earliest Poirot books (which is ironic because it takes place later in the timeline) and is a VERY different kind of novel than the typical Agatha Christie mystery. Think more action thriller as a collection of short stories (it was originally published as short stories in a magazine in 1924).
