À propos de cet audio
Sonea, former street urchin, now a Black Magician, is horrified when her son, Lorkin, volunteers to assist Dannyl in his new role as Guild Ambassador to Sachaka, a land still ruled by cruel black magicians. When word comes that Lorkin has gone missing Sonea is desperate to find him, but if she leaves the city she will be exiled forever, and besides, her old friend Cery needs her help. Most of his family has been murdered - the latest in a long line of assassinations to plague the leading Thieves. There has always been rivalry, but for the last decade the Thieves have been waging a deadly underworld war, and now it appears they have been doing so with magical assistance.

Boring
Although I have never been a fan of fantasy or magic, I started reading the Magician's Guild, the first book of the Black Magician Trilogy, by the same author, and couldn't put it down. I eagerly moved on to the next two audio books. Her writing style is unsophisticated, and her repetition of phrases like, his blood turned to ice, he felt a chill run down his spine, etc., was slightly annoying, but the books were exciting and fast-paced. I enjoyed the trilogy so much that I was delighted to find that she had written a sequel. The shortcomings of the first trilogy were compounded in this book, but without any redeeming qualities. There is little magic, the book is disjointed, the same inane phrases are repeated incessantly, and the book is basically uninteresting. I didn't finish it. If you haven't read the Black Magician Trilogy I highly recommend it. This one isn't worth your time.
