À propos de cet audio
Anarchism has been both a vision of a peaceful, cooperative society — and an ideology of revolutionary terror. Since the term itself — anarchism — is a negation, there is a great deal of disagreement on what the positive alternative would look like. The black flag comes in many colors.
The Anarchist Handbook is an opportunity for all these many varied voices to speak for themselves, from across the decades. These were human beings who saw things differently from their fellow men. They fought and they loved. They lived and they died. They disagreed on much, but they all shared one vision: Freedom.

What a Treat!
I won't lie - it gave me some kicks to see that I was already familiar with many of the essays in this book. But as an audiobook I'd say this is a must-buy whether you've got the essays within it in your library/archive or not.
I love that Malice comissioned a cast of hip names familiar to 2020s dissidents to read these essays written by heavy-hitter American anarchists from centuries past for this audiobook. They aren't quite as competent readers as you might get in a typical audiobook narrated exclusively by pros, but they know their way around a microphone well enough. The novelty of listening to Mikhaila Peterson voice Emma Goldman's biting words (among other choice pairings) more than makes up for less-than-perfect audiobook cadence in some of the essays.
The essays themselves are great and give plenty of insight into the diversity and depth of the American anarchist tradition. And boy oh boy do those 19th century and early-mid 20th century anarchists know how to get you hyped up for the cause. Particularly the so-called "left anarchists". They may miss the mark on economics and property to some extent, and as a proponent of agorism and pacifism (I'm what could be called a right anarchist I guess) I obviously can't endorse some of the extreme measures left anarchists have promoted as I dogmatically believe fostering peaceful counter economies and cultures is the only way forward (and some form of natural property rights is critical to that end). Nonetheless it's inspiring to listen to these erudite, passionate and uncompromising bada***s give a big ol' middle finger to that hateful network of institutions we call the state. Throughout the book you'll hear these writers strike at the very core of statism with style, rigor, impeccable reason and on firm moral and pragmatic grounds (IMO).
Now more than ever it gives me strength and a renewed sense of purpose to be reminded of the rich lineage the torch of liberty carries with it, particularly in the US. It's all the more reason to desperately keep that flame alive in these dreadful times.

Good examples of Anarchists ideas
This audiobook covers many different approaches to Anarchism by presenting over twenty essays from a very diverse group of writers (dating from the 18th Century to the 2010’s) all with a common perspective; the believe in the individual and the importance of freedom.

Smarter than you’d expect from an underwear model!
Great intro to the history/philosophy behind the wide spectrum of anarchism!
I bought the audio book because my old-man brain was just not retaining anything as I read my physical copy.
My only complaint is the mixed quality of narrators. Malice got a bunch of his internet-famous friends to read each chapter, which made a few of the chapters almost unlistenable. It probably would have just been better if Malice read every chapter himself or rotated between the stronger narrators. Some of the chapters that I was looking forward felt like a letdown because the narrator’s delivery was weak or unengaging.
I’ll definitely read again at some point, but will skip some of the chapters that were harder to listen to.
