À propos de cet audio
Deadly radiation from a passing comet is about to destroy life on Earth.
In desperation, the US government constructs a series of underground shelters to protect as many people as possible. They are expected to be underground for 20 years before returning back to the surface.
But can they survive their time within the confines of the underground shelter? And what will they find when they finally emerge?
A parallel story to The Ark, The Anvil is a riveting story of survival and courage in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting.

it was alright
I just finished The Anvil after finishing The Ark just a few days earlier. I would say both were enjoyable to read but they lacked the depth I was hoping for, but given their short lengths I suppose that's to be expected. I wanted to hear more about the comet. I loved the mystery of why the comet gained it's unusual properties and the SciFi aspects of the sleep projects.

Hank Hill?
This story was decent but about half way through I realized what it reminded me of: if Hank Hill from ‘King of the Hill’wrote a story. It was very simple, lacking emotional quality and depth. It was a decent story but it read more like an instruction manual on apocalypse prep, propane and propane accessories. I love the idea of the shelter and the aftermath, so all in all it was mediocre to good. I would actually recommend this more for teens to young adults, perhaps those that don’t read a lot, as a good first novel.

Has its moments.
I believe this book would be better had it delved deeper into the struggle that characters met after the radiation hit. In other words, it lacks the drama of the reality of the situation and this lack of drama spills over to the characters making them one-dimensional. Considering the dire circumstances, the characters and the plot were just too nice and that left The Anvil lacking in depth. Even when there is conflict (and there isn't much) the situation is too easily resolved. The narrator is okay although he reads the story rather than voice-acts the story.
