Lily is back from Australia for the first time in seven years to spend Christmas at her mum’s house in a small, gossipy English village. To her surprise, she returns to find that her mother is dating the man next door, who also happens to be the father of her ex-boyfriend Tom. Tom, who broke Lily’s heart all those years ago. Tom, the real reason Lily fled to the other side of the world and stayed there. Tom, who is also home for Christmas and right there, next door.
In what is shaping up to be the worst Christmas ever, somehow Lily and Tom have to try to get along and play happy families, but living with the man who she is clearly not over is proving to be difficult, and tensions are high. Add in some drunken caroling, a reindeer bite, a potent Christmas pudding and some meddling parents and Lily’s trip home will turn her entire life upside down.

Cute, Quick & Festive Read!
Surprised how much I loved this - it was funny, just the right length, and left me feeling cozy & smiling! Narrator sounded a bit “old” for the age of the main characters, a younger female (and/or female/male duel narration)!would have made it perfection, but otherwise a great listen!

Sweet story, with out being syrupy
I loved the humour, it made me laugh out loud.
I also loved its hopefulness.

Enjoyed this novel more than I thought
Light and sweet without being a Hallmark cliche. Liked the characters, the narrator and left me feeling light and Christmassy.

Romcon, worth a listen
Easy to listen to, a little repetitive with the we cannot communicate problems (30 year olds that can’t communicate about high school) but I liked it and it wrapped up nicely and the story was cute.

Cute Christmas story
Loved this way more than I was expecting and it made me laugh so much. There’s some heavy subject matter near the end but it was well presented and made sense to the story.

Squeaky clean, sweet holiday story
I usually only go for romance books that have some spice (and this one has nothing but a kiss) but the book was very cute if not a little slow going.
High school sweethearts who lived next door he broke up with her in university thinking he was setting her free. They both remained broken hearted she moved to Australia to get away from seeing him & he threw himself into medical school and residency.
Then almost 10 years later they end up being forced to celebrate Christmas together and share a house. There were some slow parts to the book but over all it was cute.
