À propos de cet audio

Don't miss the NBC television series Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for The Bone Collector.

The first novel in the New York Times best-selling series featuring forensic detective Lincoln Rhyme - from the author of The Never Game.

Lincoln Rhyme was once a brilliant criminologist, a genius in the field of forensics - until an accident left him physically and emotionally shattered. But now a diabolical killer is challenging Rhyme to a terrifying and ingenious duel of wits. With police detective Amelia Sachs by his side, Rhyme must follow a labyrinth of clues that reaches back to a dark chapter in New York City’s past - and reach further into the darkness of the mind of a madman who won’t stop until he has stripped life down to the bone.

Includes the short story “A Perfect Plan” and a chapter from The Midnight Lock.

The story is great but the narration is lacking

I decided to listen to the whole story because I know from the movie that it would be a good book, and it was. However the narration was awful. The inflections were so weird and it was hard to know who was talking sometimes. I highly recommend this book if you can’t just ignore the speaker of it.

Couldn’t finish

Narrator was terrible. Story was great. Just couldn’t do it. Sounded like A bad impression of Christopher Walken.

Get this even if you saw the movie

I really enjoyed the audiobook. The delivery was sometimes robotic, though. But Hollywood’s divergence from the novel made sure the book remains exciting to the subsequent reader.

Page Turner!

I loved the movie and found this to be just as exciting to read, though Denzel and Angelina’s performances may have helped set the scene for me in my mind. I enjoyed learning more about Sach’s background story. The pace of the story was perfect, a real page turner with an interesting storyline that doesn’t skimp on detail. My one complaint would be that the narrator’s tempo took some getting used to, though his performance wasn’t bad. I had to check that I wasn’t on 1.2x. This was my first story by this author and I’ve already purchased the second in this series.

Good story-this version is better read than listened to;

The bulk of the story/suspense was good. Lots of clues and twists to uncover. The dialogue between Lincoln and Amelia was a bit too patronizing for my enjoyment and came off sometimes like man-splaining.
I am sure I would have enjoyed this more if it were not for the sub par delivery from the narrator. Lack of delivery skills took the focus off of the story and more onto how poor the narration was.
I will definitely pick up another Jeffery Deaver book, and listen too one too, if Connor O’Brien is not narrating.

So very unfortunate

I am very well aware that the 'story' is amazing. Regrettably, after listening to the narrator's voice for 5 minutes, I couldn't take it anymore. He sounds so very robotic. What an absolute disappointment!!!

I never imagined that Connor O'Brien's voice in this audiobook would of ABSOLUTELY ruined it all.
