Good story. worse narriator.
I preferred Johnathan Keeble as the narrator I do not understand why a new narrator was selected, otherwise a good book.

Some words are miss pronounced.
I’d really appreciate the reader to research how certain names are pronounced so that it sounds authentic. Steapa sounds like steaped tea and it is pronounced stee-uppa.

Jonathan Keeble replaced by Matt Bates
At first I was taken aback by the change in reader. I wasn’t sure if continue with the series since Jonathan Keeble did such an amazing job. However once I got over initial shock and wrapped my head around the two pronouncing some names differently, I found Matt Bates to do an excellent job. Comparing the two who be like comparing apples and oranges.
The quality of writing and plot are as always top notch and I think this is a particularly strong entry in the series.

Book 5
If you like the series you're in for more of the same, now with a new narrator who does a decent job, but it's jarring to get used to a new voice for uthred, also still no historical note as with the paper editions which is a continuing disappointment.

Garbage narrator but amazing story.
This narrator is a huge disappointment after Jonathan Keeble. I can't believe he is doing all the rest of the series. Garbage voices. He doesn't sound like Utred at all.

Book five of Last Kingdom series
Jonathan Keeble narrated the first four books. Matt Bates now is the new narrator . The Burning Land is just as wonderful and entertaining as the first four. It took first couple hours of listening to get used to the new narrative. Bates is good, but Jonathan Keeble was so much better. It still a great story. The new narrator isn’t
a reason, not to listen to the rest of the series. The Last Kingdom series is just so damm Good!!

A continuation to an epic tale
As always, an enthralling tale however, after listening to the 4 previous books narrated by Jonathan Keeble, you can't help but feel a tad bit disappointed by this reader. The excitement and dramatic storytelling was lacking and the different pronouncation of some names were off-putting but the story itself was so great you had to continue listening

Love the story
As always Cornwell doesn't disappoint. I did prefer the earlier reader in the series however.

Narration is distracting
While the new narrator did a good job overall, the change was extremely jarring. I had a difficult time getting into the story, as it seemed like a completely different character; the tone of voice, the 'attitude' of the narration, name pronunciations all worked together to completely pull me out of the story.
I don't know why the change was made, but more effort should have been made to find a voice that was at least similar to the previous narrator. We go from a rough, harsh, crass and irreverent narration (which perfectly captured the character of Uhtred) to a smooth, 'posh' and polished narration that doesn't suit Uhtred at all.
