À propos de cet audio
Presidential candidate Jane Kincaid - gorgeous, dynamic and extremely driven - is taking the country by storm, passionately outlining her blueprint for America. Voters quickly fall in love with her...and so, unwittingly, does Secret Service Agent Alexandria Warner.
Their mutual attraction begins to take on a fiery life of its own, and soon Jane fears that their intense feelings for each other are a tinder box that could destroy the landscape of her career...and alter the history of the country.
Jane had always expected the road to the White House would exact a high personal toll. She just never knew how high...until she's forced to choose between her heart and her political destiny.

It's a fun political drama DUOLOGY
Perhaps the other reviewer would have been happier if they had known this is a duology about the same two characters and their relationship develops more in book 2, "The Campaign". But I will say, the political story is at least as present as the f/f romance. I love these stories precisely because the romance is not the whole point and if I read too many romances I get tired of that, but I know that is not to everyone's tastes and that's ok. Just an FYI for the undecided potential listener. I also love Lori Prince's narration and have never been disappointed by a performance of hers.

A Missed Connection
While the premise held promise, I couldn't help but feel that the connection between the two main characters lacked depth and development. One of the key issues I encountered was the abruptness of their intense connection. It felt as though the author skipped over the crucial stages of building this bond, leaving me longing for a more gradual and meaningful development of their relationship. The absence of this crucial build-up made it challenging to fully invest in the connection between the characters.
Furthermore, the portrayal of one of the main characters, who had never been with a woman before, left much to be desired. It seemed like there was a missed opportunity to explore her emotions, uncertainties, and what drew her towards this newfound attraction. A deeper exploration of her internal journey could have enriched the narrative and helped readers connect more profoundly with her character.
I also did not like the voice and tone of how Alex was portrayed. It was unattractive and didn’t seem to fit the persona described by the author.
Despite these shortcomings, I appreciate the effort to tell a story within this genre and hope to see more nuanced and developed portrayals of LGBTQ+ relationships in literature.
