À propos de cet audio

The night Evan Llyr phones, Gwyn, the boy magician, takes out the magic gift his grandmother warned him against: the mutilated figure of a horse. Gwyn feels pity and longs to do what he must never do – set the captured demon free and take away its pain. Gwyn feels a strange affinity with Evan, the chestnut-haired soldier, but soon the charming Evan shows the terrible dark side of his nature. Gwyn knows that he must do battle and one of them will perish....

The stunning conclusion to the Magician Trilogy from acclaimed author Jenny Nimmo.

I wanted to finish this series that I never got a chance to as a kid. The books are very well written and narrated, grabbing the listener's attention easily. But this story in the series I found strange, because of the subject matter, there are teenage female characters in the story who are sisters, and they both get crushes on their much older cousin in his 30's, and they fight over his affection. In the story he is stated to be a distant cousin, not actually related by blood, but the fact that they are connected by family, combined with his age difference to the girls just made me feel uncomfortable while listening to the story, which is 90% about their attraction to him. It would be much better if maybe the guy was a family friend, and maybe there wasn't such an enormous age gap. He very much seems to encourage their swooning, and tends to flirt back, even kissing one of them at some point, and I found those elements to be very disturbing. I know it's just a story, and everything else about the writing I absolutely love, but it's too bad about certain details. If you give this book to a young listener to read, make sure they know these things are generally frowned upon in real life, and why.

An exciting but strange story
