Description
In this follow-up to the international phenomenon The Courage to Be Disliked, discover how to reconnect with your true self, experience true happiness, and live the life you want.
What if one simple choice could unlock your destiny?
Already a major Japanese best seller, this eye-opening and accessible follow-up to the "compelling" (Marc Andreessen) international phenomenon, The Courage to Be Disliked, shares the powerful teachings of Alfred Adler, one of the giants of 19th-century psychology, through another illuminating dialogue between the philosopher and the young man.
Three years after their first conversation, the young man finds himself disillusioned and disappointed, convinced Adler’s teachings only work in theory, not in practice. But through further discussions, the philosopher and the young man deepen their own understandings of Adler’s powerful teachings and learn the tools needed to apply them to the chaos of everyday life.
To be enjoyed on its own or as a companion to the best-selling first book, The Courage to Be Happy reveals a bold new way of thinking and living, empowering you to let go of the shackles of past trauma and the expectations of others, and to use this freedom to create the life you truly desire.
Plainspoken yet profoundly moving, The Courage to Be Happy will illuminate your life and brighten the world as we know it. Discover the courage to choose happiness.

Histoire
Alfred Adler was an Austrian physician, psychotherapist, and one of the founding fathers of modern psychology. In Understanding Human Nature, (1928), Adler sets out to acquaint the general public with the basics of Individual Psychology, which holds that the driving force of human behavior is the individual’s striving for power, partly to compensate for feelings of inferiority. The purpose of the book is to identify mistaken behaviors and show how they undermine healthy relationships, in order to gently guide the individual towards adjustment.

Histoire
As the 20th century drew to a close, the Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler (1870-1937) was perhaps the least known of the prominent figures of his time - in particular Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung - and yet he continues to be a figure of influence in the 21st century. His school of ‘individual psychology’ involved a holistic approach to the study of the individual, with a key focus on the way each person viewed the world, especially regarding their concerns of inferiority.

well structured information
The book was of great insight. My only qualm was the louder complaining of the younger teacher when irritated.

Worth Reading
It went through this book while contemplating what was being said. It is very deep and extremely insightful. It says nothing particularly new but the way it comes together is particularly elegantly put with constructive intention. For me, this book is worth reading.

The Youth took away from the good content.
This is the first audiobook that I would have preferred to read the physical copy. While the content is valuable, the character of the Youth was like nails on a chalkboard. His shrill, loud voice made me turn the volume down only to have to turn it up when the other character spoke. His fake laugh and petulant attitude never changed, even at the end. I’ve never disliked any character so much in any audiobook, even those written to be villains. How the Teacher had patience for him is beyond me. Maybe it’s a lost in translation thing, but the dialogue ruined it for me.

it is difficult to get past the abnoxious youth in this story. The constant whining and complaining is awful. No thanks.

Annoying Performance by Student Narrator
The narration by the person playing the "Youth" role is extremely annoying. The character is supposed to be a teacher at this point in the story and yet it sounds like the narrator is a 12 year old whiny kid. Makes the entire listen almost unbearable.

Couldn't stand the voice
Of the first few hours I was able to cringe my way through, I found the content fairly interesting, but the voice for the "Youth" was so distractingly annoying, loud, and whiny that I just couldn't bring myself to continue listening.
