Good costumes, less heart.

I WANTED to like this book so so much. Everyone I know loved it! But what I found was that it's written in a choppy and episodic fashion that made it hard to feel invested in the plot, and we never get to know what the characters are thinking and feeling--which I was okay with until the characters started acting in a way that felt, to me, WTF-tastic. Harriet, especially, is a baffling heroine whom it's hard to like, and I can't help but think Fleming deserves someone way better.
