Spencer even concludes each chapter with a cheeky but useful tip for listeners (like the "It's None of Your Business Card" to copy and hand out to nosy strangers asking about your passed loved one).

If you're a member of this club, get this book
I lost my Mom on November 9th to a very aggressive form of lung cancer which rapidly spread to her bones, liver, lymph nodes, and probably elsewhere. We got her official diagnosis 4 days before she passed.... so to say there was no time was an understatement. This book perfectly describes the chaos of losing a loved one to cancer, and the immeasurable pain & the overwhelming confusion that goes along with it. I've literally never related to anything more, and I'm so grateful for that.... this is a club I wouldn't recommend anyone join, but it's a club we may all be members of some day. This book has helped me immensely through the transition of having a mom to not having a mom.... and I'm eternally grateful for it!

Perfect mix of humour and depth
This book is an absolute necessity for any motherless daughters. I don’t think I have ever laughed and cried at the same time. Seriously, if your mom is dead, buy this.

Did I write this?
I cried, I laughed, I cried and cried and cried some more. This is the most relatable book I’ve ever read. We didn’t chose this club, it chose us and we are not alone.
