Similar to John Corey series
I found the main character in this book quite similar to the John Corey character in DeMille’s other series. In the way they deal with their superiors and do things in their own way. The snappy comebacks and repartee is also similar. So if you enjoyed the John Corey series you should enjoy this one.

Main character
While I enjoyed this book for the most part, your lead male character’s use of ‘Right’ as a response to what someone else had said was repeated so often that it became very annoying. I always hoped he wouldn’t say it for a long while but it was said so often and so many times that I would actually cringe and after a few chapters, I had to admit it wasn’t worth continuing and returned this audible.

Another great DeMille escapade
I always really enjoy Scott Brick's narration. The story line is great and the whole Venezuela saga is fascinating. I always learn something in DeMille's stories. It was hard to put this book down, with lots of typical humor and interesting twists and turns.

You won't be a "Deserter" reading this book.
A very good read with an accurate portrayal of Venezuela. I did find that Scott Brodie is very much like John Corey but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Scott Brodie's constant "doing his own thing" mentality is a bit far fetched but overall I think this was a good listen. Scott Brick's reading is fantastic.

Not Likely
I am a retired military vet and dont find the story believable. I wasn't able to get inyo Scott Bricks narration just doesn't sound like a former infantry soldier or any soldier with a lot of time in.
