The voice he chose to use for Emperor Claudius is amazing. The book is very good, very good, but once again the incredible narration really helps to bring the story to life.

I love history especially Roman. Not a expert but i consider i know about Roman history quite well. I find Scarrow keeps this series of books close to the actual reality of Rome. Also the story, characters, their lives being in the Roman legion make for a great story. Yes there are very many books in this series but i find i can't help but keep buying them. If you enjoy the subject matter i am sure you will enjoy these novels. Also some narrators just in my opinion just make any novel not so good. But Thorpe does a excellent job. As long as your aware of this series has many novels I would suggest giving book 1 a listen.
