brilliant
narrator's voice was a little dry but was expressive through the book. content was informative and recounts and description were clinical and educational while entertaining and enjoyable.

Spectacular.
Disturbing at times but captured the mind of the evil in the minds of these criminals. Truly a remarkable investigator to be able to recreate the minds of these evil men.

Graphic but a good listen
Be warned this book gets into more graphic detail about sexual assault than most. Covers some cases I didn't know about before, takes a new perspective on ones I did. I enjoy the narrator as well. Overall, solid true crime overview book.

Informative and well presented
Like Dark Dreams the very graphic and sexually explicit topics are discussed in a way that does not glorify or sensationalize them. The writing is easy to understand because it doesn’t use textbook language. The narrator speaks clearly and without an over dramatic tone while still being interesting.
Unlike Dark Dreams this book is written primarily by Stephen Michaud and from his perspective. It is made up entirely from interviews (or possible one interview?) with Roy Hazelwood but he, and the narrative, is presented in third person.
